Session types

The kinds of session other coaches can book with you: Robin’s three, and any you add yourself.

A session type is a kind of session other coaches can book with you, such as a short Intro chat or a full Peer coaching session. Every member has Robin's three session types, so you are bookable from day one. You can also add your own. Each session type has its own description, length options and bookable link, so the other coach knows exactly what they book.

They see your session types wherever they book you: on your booking page, and on any time you offer a connection directly.

Robin's session types

Every member has these three. Each one shows Fixed by Robin in the list.

  • Peer coaching. A full coaching session. One of you coaches, and the other is the client, for the whole session. It counts towards your hours.
  • Intro. A short first chat to see how you would work together. There are no roles, and it isn't logged as coaching.
  • Ad hoc. This one powers the Start a call button in chat, for spontaneous calls when you are both free right now. It does not appear on your booking page, and nobody can book it ahead of time. It is still a proper session, with the same records and logbook entry as any other.

Robin sets their name, link, description and roles, and you can't archive them. You choose their lengths, where you'll meet and feedback, the same as on your own session types.

Adding your own

Open Scheduling → Session types and choose New session type. You set everything on a session type you add: its name, link, description, roles, lengths, where you'll meet and feedback.

Each booking has one coach, whatever the session type. A swap is two bookings.

Editing a session type

Open Scheduling → Session types and pick one. Everything saves automatically as you work, and a small "Saved" marker appears at the top.

Name and link

The name is what other coaches see. Below it is the link, the last part of the URL people book this session at. A change to the link is a separate save, because it changes your bookable URL. Any link you have already shared for that session type stops working, so only change it when you mean to.

Description

The description is a short note other coaches see on your booking page. It says what the session is for and what to expect. The limit is 280 characters.

Roles

The roles name what each of you is in the session, such as coach and client. Other coaches see them when they book. See host and participant.

Length

Pick one or more of 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes. If you offer more than one, the other coach chooses their length when they book.

Where you'll meet

Choose where sessions of this type take place:

  • Robin video. The call runs in Robin, with transcripts, recording on Robin Pro, and a one-tap logbook entry with your time together filled in. This is the default.
  • Google Meet. Robin makes a new Meet link on your Google Calendar for each booking. Your Google Calendar must be connected. If it isn't, Robin offers Connect Google Calendar in its place.
  • I'll add a link to each booking. Use this when you make a new Zoom or Teams meeting each time. After someone books, you add the link on the session. Until you do, the other coach sees that the link is on its way.
  • My personal room. A link that never changes, such as a Zoom personal meeting room or a Teams personal link. Every booking uses it.

The other coach sees where you'll meet before they book, but never the link itself. They get the link once the booking is confirmed, or, for a link you add to each booking, once you add it. A session that has already been booked keeps its own place, and either of you can change it on the session. Sessions away from Robin video have no Robin transcript or recording, and you fill in the minutes when you log them.

Booking timing

Minimum notice and buffers are set once for your whole calendar, not for each session type. See scheduling settings.

Feedback

Collect feedback decides whether Robin asks the other coach for feedback after a session of this type. Untick it, and Robin stays quiet for that type. See feedback after a session.

Retiring a session type you added

Robin archives session types rather than deletes them. An archived type disappears from your booking page, and nobody can book it. Everything it was part of survives, and you can restore it at any time from the same list. Its link stays reserved while it is archived, so a restore brings the old URL back. Robin's three session types can't be archived.

Your bookable link

Each session type has its own URL, shown in the editor with a copy button:

practicewithrobin.com/book/your-name/session-type

Share it, and another coach lands straight on this session type, ready to pick a time. To set the your-name part, see your booking page.
